Updated to include lodging reservations link at the bottom
Shockwaves,
This is the final and culminating event of our 2020 XC season.
This National championship event will take place (pure coincidence) on the exact same course where the Coaches Cross Country National Championship Meet is taking place in November. Those running in both National championship events will have an advantage of knowing the course the second time around in December.
See full meet details in the meet info packet (referred to as meet passport on the USATF site) link below.
https://www.flipsnack.com/USATF/2020-usatf-joxc-passport/full-view.htmlDue to the current COVID-19 impact on fall sports across the country, the USATF organization recently dropped the normal qualifying requirement, so any of our Shockwaves can now register and compete in this national championship event.
This means, even if you didn’t run in last weekend’s USATF qualifying meet, you are now still eligible to run in this USATF National Championship Meet in December.
Meet registration fees for this meet are $25.00 per athlete and a valid, age verified USATF membership is required in order to be registered for this event.
Registration will be accomplished by Coach Freese via team registration through the
athletic.net online registration platform.
Registration deadline is December 6th.
I plan to submit the final Shockwaves team registration no later than Sunday, November 29th.
Also, because this is the final meet of the season, registration fees will be required in advance, prior to submission of the team registration on November 29th.
If registration fees are not submitted by the 29th, your Shockwaves runner will NOT be registered with the team registration.
However, that is why I am submitting our team registration prior to the hard deadline of December 6th, as it will allow time for any last minute administrative and or registration fee details to be worked out.
Please indicate whether or not your Shockwaves runner plans to attend this event by selecting YES or NO for meet attendance on this event page.
Final note from Coach Freese…this is an amazing event and outstanding opportunity for our Shockwaves to run in a meet of this caliber. Of the 3 major organizations that operate an annual national championship meet, USATF draws the most competitive field…for perspective, our most decorated Shockwaves runner, Mr Caughnery Freese, only finished 62nd last year at the USATF meet and although this year his times will easily put him in the top 10, the point is, just stepping on the start line at this event is an accomplishment the majority of youth XC runners don’t get to experience.
I will compose and provide a detailed itinerary for this event approximately 1-week prior to the meet date.
