UPDATE!!! Good Morning…small update for today’s event, Scoops doesn’t open til
1pm, so we are switching to Sandy’s Popper for ice cream. It’s still downtown and although Sandy’s Popper doesn’t have the full arsenal of ice cream flavors as Scoops, they still have about 30 options.

Tomorrow’s bonus practice is a 1-mile time trial to test out the course we will be running on for our Shockwaves 4th of July Mini Meet.

After the 1-mile time trial, we will all meet at Scoops Ice Cream shop for Ice Cream courtesy of your Shockwaves coaching staff…this is reward for the winning and not quite winning teams from the last two Shockwaves mini-meets.

For tomorrow, show time is 1000.

Park at the parking lot just south of the Kemper Center (66th st and 3rd Ave).

The kids and I will jog down to the start of the race at the Southport Beach House.

The finish of the 1-mile course is on 3rd Ave directly across from the doors of the Kemper Center chapel bldg.

We will track the kids finish times during the time trial tomorrow, so that they have a goal time to beat during the mini meet next weekend.

To recap, drop your shockwaves runner off at the Kemper center at 1000. The run will probably start about 1020. If you want to see your runner start the race, drive down to the Southport Beach House. If you want to see them finish drive back to the Kemper center. If you want to raz them at the halfway point, the intersection of 71st st and 3rd Ave is exactly halfway.

After the mile time trial, a short drive to Scoops for yummy ice cream goodness!!!

No requirement to wear your uniform tomorrow but you can wear your uniform if you would like to and or wear any of your Shockwaves t-shirts.

I am the only Coach tomorrow, so I will need help from one or two parents to track times at the finish line.
